- The Rocky Rail website includes a calendar showing dates of operating
sessions in Southern Colorado, a brief description of each layout and the ability to
"sign up" for a session.
The site is especially useful for those operators who have to travel
some distance and can only make occasional sessions. By checking the calendar and
clicking on the appropriate operating session you can see if "light" crew is
expected and know when your participation might be especially appreciated by the layout
owner. Likewise, a session that has light crew may be the perfect time to ask to
bring along a visiting operator.
On the other hand, if a heavy crew is already signed up it may not
be worth your while to drive a great distance only to run one or two trains. There
have been a few problems with people getting registered so they can sign up for sessions,
but these have apparently been all worked out now.
